Friday 28 January to Monday 31 January 2022 will be the 49th annual Auckland Folk Festival. Performers and audience will come together again at the Kumeu Showgrounds on Auckland Anniversary Weekend.
We’d LOVE for you to join us in one of our six venues/stages. We would love to receive applications from artists based outside of New Zealand, but without changes to the NZ border during 2021 we make no guarantees of being able to accept you. If you have the ability to return to NZ (for example you are a NZ citizen based overseas) please let us know this.
Most guest acts are asked to appear multiple times during the weekend – generally a 60 minute concert and a combination of smaller length concerts or collaborative workshops or masterclasses.
Performers are juried with regard to their quality of performance and versatility. Artists may be accepted for their ability to play a main stage show, lead an innovative workshop, showcase on an intimate side stage, or any combination of these.
Applications close at the end of April, and we endeavour to notify successful and unsuccessful applicants by the end of July. In the uncertain times we are in, we ask for patience if you haven’t heard from us. We do our best to respond to all applicants.
