Welcome to the Auckland Folk Festival Website PDF Print E-mail

January 28 - 31, 2011

The Auckland Folk Festival is an annual festival of music, song and dance for the whole family.  It takes place at the end of January on Auckland Anniversary Weekend at Kumeu Showground, northwest of Auckland.   The festival is organised by members of Devonport Folk Music Club, Titirangi Folk Music Club, Auckland Bluegrass & Traditional Old Time Country Music Club, Tir Na Nog, and City of Auckland Morris Dancers.

Kumeu Showground is an ideal festival site, with a large flat camping area, plenty of parking, hot showers and both flush and portable toilets.  On site catering is provided and off site, there are shops and restaurants within walking distance.

The guests for the 2011 festival include Steve Turner - one of the UK's finest performers of traditional songs, Diane Ponzio - a global minstrel with a charismatic stage presence, Appalachian Heaven - a hot, old-time string band playing music from West Virginia and the rural USA South as well as American Country music and acapella harmony. From New Zealand; Too Far Gone, Emeralds and Greenstone, and Sanders Alley Khan.

More detail will be available soon!

Please note that Guest Applications for the 2011 festival are now closed.
